If and when you do, we recommend contacting us immediately so that we can resolve whatever issues you run into. That way, you can get back to heating your home with the success that you deserve.

  • Poor insulation is one of the most common causes of both hot and cold spots in homes throughout the country. The insulation in your home is designed to stop unwanted heat transfer. If any area in your home is not sufficiently insulated, if that insulation is of too low an R-value, or if it has simply degraded over time, it is going to let too much heat from your house transfer to the air outside in the winter. That will result in cold spots in those areas, as well as increased heating costs.
  • Leaky ductwork is another leading cause of uneven heating. When you use a forced air heating and/or cooling system all of the air that you heat or cool with that system is distributed throughout the house via your air ducts. If your air ducts are leaking, then not all of that conditioned air will reach its intended destination. That can cause hot or cold spots.
  • Faulty equipment of various types can also lead to this problem. If you have a zone control system with a malfunctioning damper, for instance, you may not be able to distribute the right amount of conditioned air to the affected area of your home. A faulty thermostat could also cause such issues.
