Are you in the market for a new home heating system? Are you constructing a brand new home, and thinking about your different residential heating options? If so, then you are well-advised to give radiant heating in West Hartford, CT some serious consideration. There are many benefits that radiant heating has to offer that other home heating systems simply cannot match. Of course, there is no single heating system that is going to suit everyone's needs and personal preferences perfectly. Read the following information, and be sure to let us know if you have any questions regarding the operation of, or benefits offered by, radiant heating systems. Dynamic Mechanical Heating & Air Conditioning is always happy to help.

What Is Radiant Heating?

Unlike forced-air heating systems, a radiant heating system does not heat air and then distribute that heated air throughout a living space. Instead, a radiant heater operates by applying heat directly to the walls or floors of one's home, and then allowing that heat to radiate outwards, warming objects and individuals in a gradual, comfortable manner. Hydronic heating systems, for instance, entail the use of a boiler for heating water. Once the water is at the right temperature, it is circulated throughout tubes installed beneath the floors of one's home. Electricity is also commonly used in radiant heating, with electrical panels behind walls or coils beneath the floors being used in order to apply heat to those surfaces.

Benefits of Radiant Heating

As we mentioned, there are a few ways in which radiant heating can benefit you. For starters, you'll no longer have to worry about air leaking out of your air ducts as you heat your home, thanks to the fact that radiant systems do not use air ducts. This can benefit not only your efficiency levels, but your indoor air quality as well. Damaged ductwork can, after all, allow pollutants into the system, only to distribute them throughout your entire home. Plus, radiant systems won't stir up settled pollutants in the way that forced air systems may.
