Delivering Quality Comfort to the Homes and Businesses of Hartford County and New Haven County

thermostat-is-risingWell, we made it through another winter season -- though spring really has not been much of a respite so far, has it? In some ways, winter is a bit easier to handle around here. At least you know what you're getting. Spring is notoriously unpredictable in terms of weather and temperature, as we've seen again this year. The good news is that we are creeping closer and closer to the consistently warm and comfortable days of summer.

We're also creeping closer to heat that is sometimes uncomfortable, though, which is why you need to know that your AC is up to task. The best way in which to keep your AC in great working condition is with routine air conditioning maintenance. The fact remains that even the best, most well-maintained systems are not perfect, though. At some point you may need AC repairs in West Hartford, CT, and you want to act fast when you do.

How Does Your AC Sound?

As long as your air conditioner is up and running, you may assume that it is working just fine. Like many other assumptions, though, this can be a dangerous way of thinking. The fact that your air conditioner is operational does not mean that it is operating properly. If you notice incongruities with its performance, including new or strange and increasingly loud operating sounds, then problems could be headed your way.

Hissing coming from the system could mean that you have refrigerant leaks. Is your system clanging? You could have damaged fan blades or a component in the unit that has worked loose of its securings. Screeching could mean a lack of sufficient lubrication, though it could also mean you have a belt that's about to go bust. We can determine precisely what is wrong, and resolve the problem successfully.

How Much Does Your AC Cost?

It would be great if you could cool your home entirely free of cost, but this is just not the reality of the situation. Even the most efficient systems and models out there are going to cost you something to keep comfortable in the summer months. That being said, you probably have a handle on what your AC generally costs to do its job.

If any point you notice an inexplicable surge in energy costs, you could be dealing with a compromised cooling system. Don't just ignore the problem and shell out the extra money. You deserve an efficient performance, and you shouldn't give any problems the time that they need to do more damage.

How Is Your AC Performing?

Again, a running AC is not necessarily a properly functioning AC. One of the most obvious signs that there is something wrong with your system, aside from that of a total breakdown, is a system that is blowing warm air or leaving hot spots throughout your home. You could have damaged ductwork, a faulty thermostat, or even refrigerant leaks.

However, you could also just have a tripped breaker that has left your indoor unit and fan running while disabling the outdoor unit. That will cause the system to continue distributing air, but that air won't be cooled. If there is no such obvious cause of the problem, contact us right away to have the actual problem accurately diagnosed and expertly resolved.
